Influence of the tie-break rule on the end-vertex problem

چکیده
End-vertices of a given graph search may have some nice properties (as for example it is well known that the last vertex of Lexicographic Breadth First Search (LBFS) in a chordal graph is simplicial, see [16]). Therefore it is interesting to consider if these vertices can be recognized in polynomial time or not, as first studied in [6]. A graph search is a mechanism for systematically visiting the vertices of a graph. At each step of a graph search, the key point is the choice of the next vertex to be explored. Graph searches only differ by this selection mechanism during which a tie-break rule is used. In this paper we study how the choice of the tie-break in case of equality during the search, for a given graph search including the classic ones such as BFS and DFS, can determine the complexity of the end-vertex problem. In particular we prove a counterintuitive NPcompleteness result for Breadth First Search solving a problem raised in [6].

The robust vertex centdian location problem with interval vertex weights on general graphs
In this paper, the robust vertex centdian location problem with uncertain vertex weights on general graphs is studied. The used criterion to solve the problem is the min-max regret criterion. This problem is investigated with objective function contains $lambda$ and a polynomial time algorithm for the problem is presented. It is shown that the vertex centdian problem on general graphs i...
متن کاملInfluence of front row burden on fragmentation, Muckpile shape, Excavator cycle time, and back break in surface Limestone Mines
Front row burden is one of the key parameter to improve the bench blasting results. Improper design of the front row burden can create nuisances in the form of ground vibration, flyrock, back break or it may responsible for breakage of improper fragment size from the rockmass. Therefore, front row burden need to be optimised on the basis of proper scientific assessment. It has been proved that ...
متن کاملOn the extremal total irregularity index of n-vertex trees with fixed maximum degree
In the extension of irregularity indices, Abdo et. al. [1] defined the total irregu-larity of a graph G = (V, E) as irrt(G) = 21 Pu,v∈V (G) du − dv, where du denotesthe vertex degree of a vertex u ∈ V (G). In this paper, we investigate the totalirregularity of trees with bounded maximal degree Δ and state integer linear pro-gramming problem which gives standard information about extremal trees a...
متن کاملUsing a Fuzzy Rule-based Algorithm to Improve Routing in MPLS Networks
Today, the use of wireless and intelligent networks are widely used in many fields such as information technology and networking. There are several types of these networks that MPLS networks are one of these types. However, in MPLS networks there are issues and problems in the design and implementation discussion, for example security, throughput, losses, power consumption and so on. Basically,...
متن کاملUWB Planar Conical Horn-Shaped Self-Complementary Bow-Tie Antenna
An ultra-wideband (UWB) self-complementary planar bow-tie antenna (SCPBTA) is proposed. The antenna consists of a printed conical horn-shaped (CHS) radiator and a counterpart CHS slot etched on a rectangular ground plane. The printed CHS radiator is connected directly to the 50Ω microstrip line by bending the end portion of the feed line. As a result, the antenna has a simple structure which do...
